Yuan Yi Hefei

This golf course on the outskirts of Hefei in Anhui Province for the Yuan Yi Group of companies is 27 holes wrapping around a lake. A flat topography was given interest and delineation through the planting of thousands of Juniperus chinensis under a canopy of Poplars which define fairways and direct views. Juniperus for the entire course were planted in Spring and the following Autumn, a variety of indigenous deciduous flowering shrubs and tall grasses were combined with the bands of evergreens to complete the picture and provide habitat.

Darren designed and supervised the landscape installation to completion. The course layout was designed by Les Watts of LCW Golf Design Macau.
