King George V Memorial Avenue of English Oaks Tamworth conservation management plan
heritage
The English Oaks (Quercus robur) along King George V Avenue, Tamworth are in a state of gradual decline due to initial lopping and recurrent pruning of the trees which in turn have led to other contributing factors in their decline such as the damage caused by borers to the internal structure of the trees. Some trees have already been removed due to compromised structural integrity and others are already or will soon be beyond remedial treatment.
Darren on behalf of Tamworth Regional Council assisted in preparing recommendations for maintaining the avenue into the future and in the preparation of a Conservation Management Plan for the Avenue.
